Acoustic doorsets are a vital ingrediant to the attenuation recipe.
A poorly specified door will be as effective as a chocolate teapot and render the effectiveness of an otherwise well built room as pointless.
Acoustic attenuation is a holistic process with one material affecting another to create an overall acoustic effect. Where doors of this nature are required, we are generally focussing on the attenuation or sound proofing of a given area. With this in mind it would be usual to expect the construction of a room to be at a particular level of attenuation. To achieve this the walls, ceilings, floors, windows and doors have to be of a compatible acoustic rating.
We can supply a range of options for you. Some of our doors are acoustically tested and certified to provide a belt and braces product. In terms of sound rating efficiency these doors are certified to operate from Rw 39dB right up to Rw 55dB.
However sometimes our client require a more bespoke approach. A doorset that provides a level of attenuation but with a particular finish or as a non-standard size etc. Again we can accomodate this, we simply use our own doorset design, incorporating individually tested component parts that are tested to a given level. We cannot say that the unit is tested to a particular level but we can say the ratings of each part and the expected on site performance level, taking other building elements into consideration.
With a host of finishes available we are fairly confident of our ability to assist you in specifying the right doorset for your project. Please feel free to get in contact to see how we can be of more assistance.
